Woven Log
Professor: Chachi Mathis Spring 2026
The Woven Log is a juxtaposition of traditional and nontraditional furniture construction. The base of the stool was formed by subtracting sections from the larger mass rather than connecting several smaller elements. The seat of the stool is caned, though not in the traditional six strand method. The design changed slightly during the making of the stool as a reaction to the process.
