City Spa
Professor: Scott Poole Fall 2022
The goal of the City Spa was to create a spa that fit into the urban context without just being a box. Spas are supposed to be a space to escape, but here we wanted to also be connected to the city. Most rooms are accessed through outdoor walkways, letting the customer connect with nature between experiences. The building is set within a regular grid with lots of voids to allow for expansion when needed. Those voids are designed to act as trellises for vegetation. Rest spaces are near the front to allow for city observation, while the massage and other experiences are towards the back for privacy.
